Leanne's background comes from volunteering and managing the Upper Hutt Victim Support Group for 15 years and a further 2 years as the Co-Coordinator of the Timberlea Residents Community Centre. Leanne has managed VHB for the last three years; she is familiar with groups and organisations in the Bay and is building firm relationships with the sector.
Roberta works as a Business Mentor. Her experiences include retail, wholesale, manufacturing, real estate, tertiary education management, non-profit governance, committee work, investment and consulting. She is a member of the Napier Rotary Club and currently is the 9930 Chair for Rotary Learning and Information. She is keen to guide VHB to deliver its vision of connecting the community sector.
Raj is a Graduate Accountant at BDO in New Zealand. Originally from India, Raj has worked at BDO for nearly 3 years as an accountant. He is a natural volunteer and has served in many volunteer roles,including several as treasurer. Raj brings youth, enthusiasm and commitment to the board.
Secretary to the Board
Ken is a longstanding member who has guided VHB throughout many years of passionate involvement, having been chair, secretary, and mentor. Ken also serves on several other boards and brings experience in fund raising and member management to the board. Ken has served the Hawke's Bay community in many roles including being a member of the Fire Service.
Christine is a trained teacher with qualifications in Business and Training and Development. Her business and teaching experience aided her endeavours and the experience gained through VSA in the Pacific has been life changing. She enjoys volunteering and brings enthusiasm to the board.
Jenny works as Programme Manager with Springboard Trust bringing a rich background in people, systems and general management to VHB. Values-driven, Jenny is passionate about supporting people and the organisations they are part of to thrive. In her spare time, Jenny enjoys exploring the beautiful Hawke’s Bay region on her motorcycle, and spending time with family, friends, and her two dogs.
Rachael joined the board in 2020. She grew up in Hawkes Bay and has recently completed her Diploma in Legal Executive studies and is employed in a local law firm. She is passionate about all things Hawke’s Bay and is actively involved in volunteering in various groups in the region. She is passionate about the future of volunteering in Hawke’s Bay and can’t wait to get stuck in through the board of VHB.
Paulo has almost 10 years experience working within the construction and engineering industry, doing sales, project management, quantity surveying, financial and operations management. He emphasises the challenge of building and motivating teams and finding great talent. He enjoys being part of VHB's governance team learning new skills. From Brazil, living in New Zealand, I speak English, Portuguese, Spanish, and Galician.
