Children's programme facilitator - grief and loss

Growing Through Grief provides peer support, grief, loss and change programmes for children who are experiencing changes around the death of someone close, separation or divorce, having a family member in prison, illness, disability, new family members, changes in living and/or school situations, or other life changes. Age appropriate groups are available for children and young people between 6 and 18 years. We need volunteers to work with small groups of children with the material and training provided.


Volunteer screening will take place at an interview before training is offered.
Volunteer must enjoy working with children; be happy to work in conjunction with another volunteer facilitator; be able to deliver material provided, be reliable and able to commit 2 hours a week for an entire 9 week programme, be a good listener; have come to terms with their own loss and grief experiences.
Attending a grief and loss seminar and child protection training is also required (provided by us).

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

2 hours per week for a 9 week programme
