Volunteers are the life-blood of the CAB. Most give about 4 hours every week to answer phone calls or emails from our clients, or to help them face-to-face when they come into the CAB. Full training and support is given from day one. On top of this ‘rostered duty’, every volunteer participates in ongoing learning and development to ensure their skills and knowledge remains current, and contributes to running the CAB. We provide all our volunteers with the training, tools and ongoing support necessary to provide our service. We have a friendly team of volunteers who enjoy being able to give back to the community. If you have had a full interesting career and personal life and enjoy interacting with people this role could be just what you are looking for. Citizens Advice Bureau has been in NZ for over 50 years and is a trusted confidential service for everyone.
Friendly manner, honest and reliable, able to use a computer and enjoy researching options for clients.
You will have had experience working and interacting with people and enjoy helping solve problems. Must have patience and a good sense of humour and able to commit to long term volunteering.
Rostered shifts Monday to Friday either 9.00am -12.30pm or 12.30pm -4pm
Saturday morning 9-11am on a roster basis
Attend training once a month on the first Thursday of each month
and be willing to help out with a bureau task once trained.
