Intake Coordinator - making a difference for HB youth

The principal objective of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentoring Programme is to work alongside referring agencies, volunteer mentors and whānau to encourage healthy youth development by providing a mentoring service for individual young people aged 6-11 in Hawke’s Bay.

The aim of this role is to support the Mentoring Coordinators in processing Volunteer Mentor and Young People Enquiries to ensure smooth and timely communication. Work from home, or pop into the office and join the team.


  • The recruitment process from initial enquiry through to police vetting and referee checks is carried out in a timely manner and in-line with BBBS NZ policies.
  • Engage and build a rapport to encourage follow-through on the application process.
  • Mentor Coordinators have the adequate administrative support to ensure quality work well representative of BBBS is carried out


  • Develop rapport quickly with people
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word/Excel and Google Suite
  • Great communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time and resources

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

1 - 2 hours a day, Monday to Friday, Flexible
