Support for the 2023 Census at drop-in centres
Volunteering Hawkes Bay is looking for up to 15 volunteers to assist people to complete the 2023 Census.
This role includes:
• Greeting people as they enter our drop-in Centre to determine the kind of help they require
• Working one-on-one helping people complete the census online
• Working one-on- one helping people complete their paper forms
Here are some details:
We will be operating two drop-in centres with two shifts each day. There will be 3-4 volunteers in each shift.
Taradale RSA Thursday 23 March
• Shift ONE 9:30 - 2:30
• Shift TWO 2:30 – 6:30
Hastings St Andrews Hall Friday 31 March AND Monday 3 April
• Shift ONE 9:30 - 2:30
• Shift TWO 2:30 – 6:30
We are looking for people who are friendly, patient and supportive. Because the Census contains personal questions, we need people who are sensitive and can act with discretion in respect to personal information. Online training is provided.
Please Note: This is a volunteer position with Volunteering Hawkes Bay to operate Assisted Completion Locations (ACL) in partnership with Statistics New Zealand
One four or five hour shift on scheduled weekdays
This is a great opportunity to give just a few hours to help people participate in the Census. The data collected informs important work undertaken by central and local government, iwi, community groups, and businesses that impact every person, family/whānau, and community in Aotearoa New Zealand.
