Join us! Governance roles for women helping women

Multiple positions are becoming available from May 2023 to join the Heretaunga Women’s Centre Governance committee. This is a great opportunity to gain Governance training and experience while assisting the women of Heretaunga/ Hawkes Bay.

The centres five key areas of focus for 2023 are:
• Advocacy – supporting and advocating for the needs and empowerment of women.
• Connection – offering opportunities for women to come together and participate in shared interests and activities.
• Mentorship – creating relationships that support the transfer and development of skills and knowledge.
• Personal Growth – providing opportunities for personal growth and self-development to enhance and enrich different areas of your life.
• Women’s Health & Wellness – promoting wellness in women.

Additionally in 2023 we will be growing our counselling service for women and wish to reach more within the business community to further support those working.

Meetings are monthly either via zoom or at our Hastings centre and ideal commitment is a 3-year term. Please reach out if you would like more information -chair@hwc.nz .

Requirements:

Align with the Heretaunga Women's Centre values and aspire to our purpose of enhancing and advocating for the wellbeing and empowerment of women.

A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Meetings take place on the third Monday of the month from 5:30pm for approx 1.5 hours.
Opportunity to be involved in wider Heretaunga Women's Centre events and activities outside of meeting times - for example, International Women's Day Breakfast, supporting with annual Women's Triathlon, attending Movie Night fundraisers etc
