CYCLONE GABRIELLE Distribution of donations for isolated and at risk communities
The distribution centre enables a community to come together and work to produce food parcels to be distributed to Wairoa, Dartmoor, Puketapu, Waiohiki and Eskdale plus many other hugely effected areas of Cyclone Gabrielle. We would like to thank the many volunteers from Volunteering Hawkes Bay that have given their time and energy over three shifts per day, 7 days a week amounting to 120 Volunteer per day.
As the scaling down of the emergency response stage occurs we find ourselves in the recovery stage which has meant many volunteers are back to work and students are back to school, we are looking for volunteers to work 9am - 3pm Monday to Friday on a rostered basis.
The activities required are at the A&P Showgrounds - Exhibition Hall.
You need to be fit and keen to get in with a team of like minded people wanting to help their community. Some lifting of boxes does apply.
