A Community Resilience Plan helps people in the community understand the local risks, how to communicate and coordinate with each other and with Civil Defence in an emergency, and how to work together to recover from an emergency event. It's helpful for your marae to have a plan to get through in an emergency, as well as a plan for looking after whānau.
On Thursday the 28th October at 9.30am Civil Defence and NIMA will be performing an exercise to see how resilient and ready you are for an earthquake and tsunami event. We are looking for a group of people to make calls to lists of contacts (don't worry we have a blurb) to encourage businesses to get involved in their workplace. All the contacts will need to register on the Civil Defence website and NIMA will send them all the details they need to participate. Volunteering Hawkes Bay are providing this opportunity on Civil Defences behalf and this role can be done at your work premise, home or at the Volunteering Hawkes Bay office all together.
You can work from home, work with your friends with any spare time you have, preferably during working hours to contact businesses and organisations.
A list, script and further information will be provided by Volunteering Hawkes Bay.
