Coffee Cart baristas and coffee assistants

Support local community events and gatherings with a hot drink and some emotional support.

Red Cross has a coffee cart which it takes to events or community gatherings to help engage with communities.  This idea came out of the Christchurch earthquakes. Its purpose is to help maintain community engagement, which tends to drop away, after a certain period, after an emergency event. It’s also an ice-breaker to help Red Cross provide psychosocial support in communities.

We have some volunteers but we are looking for more, particularly those that are able to use a coffee machine i.e. baristas.  This will be a casual on-call type of arrangement although I’d like to establish a team of people that could manage and deploy the coffee cart as they see fit.

The coffee cart is not a caravan type of cart but is an especially built three-wheeled moped-scooter with a coffee-making rear-end.  Seeing is believing! It's unique and quite the attractor.

Red Cross has volunteers that can do psychosocial first aid.  We need baristas and assistants.  It would be good to have 2 or 3 of each.  Casual on-call rosters.

Your help with this would be really appreciated.
