Facilitator (Reintegration)

We are currently looking for volunteers to deliver weekly one-hour sessions of the international Peace Education Programme, either in the Hawke’s Bay Regional Prison or at Community Corrections in Hastings. The Programme is an innovative series of video-based workshops that help people discover their own inner strength and personal peace. 

You will work with another volunteer and deliver short videos on one of ten themes followed by reflection time, discussions and workbook activities. 

This role may suit you if you are empathetic, confident speaking to a group, available for 2-4 hours/per week and would like to make a positive and meaningful difference in someone's life. Please get in touch today to find out more!

PARS provides full training, mostly through online live interactive Zoom sessions, plus a one-day face-to-face training session in Hastings. 

Vetting is required but previous convictions can be discussed. 

Driver licence is required.

We would love to hear from you if you have some, or all, of the following attributes:  

  • Empathetic, open-minded and accepting  

  • Confident speaking in front of others 

  • Have previously worked as a facilitator, a teacher or have an education background 

  • Have experienced the criminal justice system, either personally or alongside whanau  

  • Calm under pressure  

  • Able to adhere to boundaries  

  • Flexibility  

  • Good computer skills
