Freedom Philosophy Society

What we exist for:

Our vision is to deliver highly practical Freedom Philosophy programmes into prisons throughout New Zealand, in order to support the successful rehabilitation and integration of prison inmates back into Society, for the good of all.

Our main aims include the ongoing development and refinement of our programmes to meet the needs of prison inmate participants, and, to help guide them to live more meaningful lives within the community that more truly reflect their best selves.

As the Freedom Philosophy Society expands to provide more practical philosophy courses to more prisons, so too we have a growing need for more Tutors and Assistants.

Our usual model is to have one (experienced) Tutor, with two (inexperienced) Assistants, delivering a 6-7 week course.

We may run several groups of 8-10 prison students during the day. We run 4 different courses per year.

Volunteers who can give a few hours of their time one day per week for at least 6 weeks will be most welcome. Training will be provided.
